Our hometown, Chatham, was once a global powerhouse, leading the world in ship building. We draw on that rich tradition of craft and innovation and our small but dedicated team grafts as one to produce small batches of the smoothest, most flavoursome whisky, gin and vodka from farm to glass in specially designed stills we wrought right here in Chatham.
Visit us to enjoy a variety of unique distillery and dining experiences.
Our Spirits
We grow our grain in Kent, often within 20 miles of our distillery in partnership with local farmers – giving our spirits some of the lowest food miles in the industry.
We mash the grain, which has been milled onsite, at low temperature, using only fresh water – this maximises extraction without creating dry or sharp notes
We do a long, long, long fermentation – which creates an outrageously fruity and punchy distiller’s beer
Low temperature distillation in stills specially designed to achieve maximum smoothness and maximum flavour extraction our 40 plate, 10m tall hybrid still is unique and our gin still is the only patented gin still in the world
Masthouse whisky is matured in the best casks we can find and they’re filled at a lower than usual alcohol level – this means gentler, softer maturation for a sweeter, smoother whisky
When we marry casks of whisky or macerate flavours in gin, we just let them sit, relax, take their time and do their flavour thing. GREAT TASTE CANNOT BE RUSHED.
